Brendan Dolan was the man of the tournament.

challenge cup and I found it very exiting to watch it as champions Wigan lost to Castleford. Warrington
cruised into the semi finals as they defeated Bradford. Leeds managed to survive against first division Leigh and Castleford tigers got the fourth sport.

ENGLAND QUALIFY FOR
SEMI FINAL OF WORLD CUP
England managed
to reach the semi finals of the world cup of field hockey last night. The score
in the match was 3-2 and the game was level twice so Belgium had their chance to reach the semi finals. They will now
probably play the Netherlands who play today in a semi final to reach the final
in the Hague
