SHAUN MURPHY V NEIL ROBERTSON

Shaun Murphy looked brilliant in the first session as he took control of the match winning it by 6 frames to 2 but in the second session  it went to 10-2 and Robertson could not score a frame in the second session incredible. We wonder where that Robinson was that beat Ronnie in the semis

RONNIE O SULLIVAN V MARCO FU

Ronnie O Sullivan took another record of Steven Hendry after winning 42 matches at the masters as he cruised to a 6-1 win over Marco. O Sullivan started with a 101 in the first frame to break the century record held by Steven Hendry.

NEIL ROBERTSON V  ALI CARTER

Ali showed that he could play snooker but Neil Robertson was much the better player in this match hitting 2 centuries and a 98.

PREDICTIONS

JOE PERRY V MARK ALLEN

This is a match of the 2 shock competitors of the week but if Perry plays like he did against Ding this could be a great match and if he doesn't it will go to Allen. I would go with Allen because of this

STEVEN MAGUIRE V SHAUN MURPHY

This is a match between 2 players on the top of their game one known for defence in Maguire and one for being in balls with Murphy. Murphy is learning how to play defensively well and I think that he has to be the favourite.

MARK ALLEN 6-3 JOHN HIGGINS

This was a very close match as no one had more than a 1 frame lead until Allen led by 5 frames to 3. Higgins hit the final red with 15 reds and 15 blacks but he could not get the power on the shot so he had to hit a long yellow which he missed. Allen hit a century in the match also.

DING JUNHUI 3-6 JOE PERRY

This was the shock of the week so far as Ding Junhui lost to surprise package Joe Perry. With Perry hitting breaks of 79 and 104 he proved that there was no sense of fear in his mind as he looked strong. Junhui was missing some simple pots and did not look like himself

PREDICTIONS QUARTER FINALS

RONNIE O SULLIVAN V MARCO FU

If Ronnie is at his brilliant best no one can beat him. My question is where his head is at today. He is getting better at that so I would go with him for that reason he is more likely to win but Marco can make this a very close match and I would say Ronnie by less than 2 frames.  

ALI CARTER V NEIL ROBERTSON

We have no real sense of form to where Ali carter is at this moment in time as he has been out of snooker for quite a while . This could go either way but I would go with Robinson as he has had the match experience and I feel that it will be close.

RONNIE O SULLIVAN V RICKY WALDEN

Ronnie equalled Steven Hendry’s record of  centuries after hitting 2 centuries last night. In the match Ronnie hit 2 centuries to equal the record but he was very lucky to get the final century as it depended on a fluke on the yellow. In the match Ronnie raced to a 5-1 with a century to be one behind.  Walden came back with a few mistakes by Ronnie to make it 5-4. Ronnie then hit a century to win the match.

ALI CARTER V BARRY HAWKINS

Ali Carter came back from a horrible luck. With cancer and cronns disease to win this masters match.  Carter made a superb start with breaks of 95 and 50. A century followed to make the score 5-1 won the next frame to victory. Carter received a standing ovation from the crowd after the match.

PREDICTION

MARK ALLEN V JOHN HIGGINS

 

I think that this is a match that could be won buy either man as it is a very close match. I feel that if Mark can get out to a 2-0 lead I feel that he can win this match quite comfortably but if it turns into a battle it can go either way.

DING JUHUI V JOE PERRY

If Ding does not win this match I would be surprised as I feel that he is much the better player than Perry.

NEIL ROBERTSON 6-4 ROBERT MILKINS

Neil Robinson showed why he is one of the best players in the world after beating Robert Milkins. With breaks of 94 and 95 we get the chance to see why he is one of the favourites for this title. I think he could go deep in this competition.  

JUDD TRUMP 4-6 STEVEN MAGUIRE

Steven showed that he had got the class to win this match but at the start you could not see him winning with breaks of 76 and 71 you would think that he was the better player. Judd hit the only century of the match with a 102

PREDICTIONS

RONNIE O SULLIVAN V RICKY WALDEN

I can not go further than Ronnie for this one as I think that he is the most natural player in the world and over the years he has learned to play safe.,

BARRY HAWKINS V ALI CARTER

I want Ali to win this so much but I think that the tournament experience Barry has will be enough for this match.

MARCO FU V STUART BINGUM

Marco Fu made a 147 in beating Stewart Bingum by 6 frames to 3 and he looks very good at this stage. Fu managed to win the match by 6 frames to 3 and maybe we will get an Aisan winner this year.

MARK SELBY V SHAWN MURPHY

Shawn Murphy has had control of this match from the star but it did feel like he allowed Mark Selby back into it. Murphy seemed to have complete control leading by 5 frames to 1 but Selby brought it back to 5-5. Murphy was able to get.

MY PREDICTIONS

JUDD TRUMP V STEVEN MAGURE

I see this as a bit of a battle that both players can win. I feel that it depends on which Judd Trump turns up. I will go for Trump but not by much

NEIL ROBERTSON V ROBERT MILKINS

I see this as a quite comfortable win for Robertson as he does look like much the stronger player at this time.
