PDC DARTS LAST 16

Wednesday, 30 December

19:00-23:00 GMT

Scotsman Peter Wright showed his class in winning a cracker by 4 sets to 3 over England’s Dave Chisnall. No one ever had any real control at any time and the game was exciting right up until the end of the match where it went to a tie break and Wright was able to break Chisnal at the end to win. We will still have his sense of madness in the world championships.

English Qualifier Alan Norris beat low seed Mark Webster from Wales in a quite comfortable win. Webster could not get started in any way in this match but the little experience Webster had did not help him in any way.

Jelle Klassen from the Netherlands showed last night that he had what it takes to be a potential world champion by being able to get ahead by a set and holding his throw against Phil Taylor to make the score 3-3 but it came close to midnight before the match was won by 6 legs to 4 by Klassen now we wonder how Klassen will be able to handle the media pressure

Quarter final draw

Raymond van Barneveld (Ned) v Michael Smith (Eng)

Adrian Lewis (Eng) v Peter Wright (Sco)

Gary Anderson (Sco) v James Wade (Eng)

Alan Norris (Eng) v Jelle Klaasen (Ned)

30-12-15 pdc darts results

Tuesday, 29 December

Third round

This was an epic of a game between the 2 best Dutch darts players in the world and it was one that everybody said Michael Van Gerwin would win but the set format suited Van Barneveld as he was able to take sets of Van Gerwin when needed. Van Gerwin had a 105 average while Van Barneveld had a 98 and that was what made it so amazing.

Gary Anderson from Scotland showed that he was a potential champion with this very confortable win over Vincent Van Der Vort. He cruised into the last 8 with a 4-0 win and look to be one to watch out for going forward.

Adrian Lewis ruined the dream of Serbian Austrian Mensur Suljovic as he took him apart by 4 sets to 0 and looks good as a potential champion

pdc darts results 29-12-15

Monday28th December

Last night Adrian Lewis had no problem in dismissing Andrew Gilding to reach the last 16 as he seemed to cruise in by 4 sets to 0.

In the next match peter Wright showed his class to simply dismiss Belgium Ronny Huybrechts who found it very difficult to give the Scotsman a match as a lot of the fans thought he would

Phil Taylor had a very bad match against Kevin painter averaging in the 90s and this was Kevin Painters chance to come up with something all he could pick up was a set he must have felt very disappointed with that result.

Tuesday, 29 December

In the final match of the second round Dutchman Jelle Klassen had a few issues in dismissing shaved headed man Mervyn King as this was a bit of a problem as it was a close match which Klassen was able to get control of at the end to win 4-2

Third round (best of seven sets)

|In the first match of the last 16 Michael Smith looked in incredible scoring form and was able to hit 180s like there was no one else there at times he did have a few problems with finishing which could be fixed. Van Den Pas from the Netherlands could not compete at this level.

James Wade was not on any sort of form and this was Jamie Cavens chance to get something out of this match but Caven could not get started in any way shape or form. Wade won by 4 sets to 1 but Caven is better than this.

Other last 16 matches include

Tonight

Aidrian Lewis v Mensur Suljovic
Lewis should win quite comfortably

Gary Anderson v Vincent van der Voort
This match could be a lot closer than people think

Michael van Gerwen v Raymond van Barneveld

Match of the round by far

Tomorrow

Peter Wright v Dave Chisnall

Good match I would not want to predict it

Alan Norris v Mark Webster

Who will be the surprise package?

Phil Taylor V Jelle Klassern

Good match for Taylor

PDC DARTS RESULTS

Saturday, 26 December

Second round

This game did not deserve to be 4-1 to Anderson as Gurney showed that he was much better than this result. There were sets that he should have won and should have lead by 3 sets to 1 but could not finish

Ricky Evens was not able to get started in this match as Jamie Caven did not allow him into the game at all with this 4-0 win

Dave Chisnal showed why he is one of the best darts players in the world at the moment with this comfortable win going forward deeper into the competition Chisnal is one to watch

Sunday, 27 December

Michael Smith beat the granddad of darts Steve Beeten but from a result like this I cannot see him as a champion

In this all European match we cot to see what darts was like on the continent for young people and we got to see that there is some quality here as this was a very good match to watch but as in darts the Dutch Van de Pas beat the Belgium Van Den Bergh by 2 clear sets

Van Der vort showed that he is one of the top Dutch players after defeating Aussie Kyle Anderson by 2 sets but Van der Vort did show his experience as he is a very old player

Ramond Van Barneveld  from the Netherlands had a few problems in dismissing fellow2 BDO world champion Steven bunting as it went into the final set it was Van Barneveld experience and knowledge that won this for him

Both James Wade from England and Michael Van Gerwin just cruised into the last 16 of this years last 16 after beating Wes Newton and Darren Webster respectively and both look like title conters there was not much from there opponents to talk about

Monday, 28 December

Neither of these players was that well known but Norices experience on the BDO circuit was what helped him

Jenkins was a huge disappointment in this match as he just could not get going against Mark Webster as we know he is much better than this

This game was a thriller you could not guess who would have it at any time as Serbian Suluvic won by 4 sets to 3 against David Pallett by 4 sets to 3 as both players were one dart of a 9 darter

PDC DARTS 24-12-15

PDC WORLD DARTS CHAMPIONSHIPS

First round

Andrew Guilding from England had no problem in dismissing Welshman Gerwin Price as it only took him 2 sets to do so but like other results tonight something’s there can be little to be learned

In an all European affair Benito van de Pas from the Netherlands beat Max Hopp 3-1 and this shows me that he can go beyond the first round and maybe towards a quarter final.

One of the currant  for the title England’s Adrian Lewis had no problem in dismissing Dutchman Jan Decker in 3 sets but sometimes the quality of the opponent is just not there to tell you where you are

Dutchman Jelle Klaasen had no problem in dismissing Englishman Joe Cullen but a match like this cannot help them going forward

Here is the second round draw and days for games to be played

22-12-15 PDC DARTS

HYBRECKS WINS THRILLER

Ronny Huybrechts from Belgium the older brother of Kim managed to beat Dean Winstanley in a thriller that went 5 sets and had to be won by 2 clear legs. It all went down to the final leg where Huybrechts was able to win it in a madly exciting match.

WES JUST MAKES IT EASY

Englishman Wes Newton had no problem in dismissing Spaniard Cristo Reyes by 3 sets to 1 Newton might be an outside bet for the tournament going forward.

DAVE ON CLOUD DAVE

Dave Chisnal had no problem in dismissing Rowby-John Rodriguez from Austria as he showed his class in this first round match.

JENKINS FINDS IT EASY

Englishman Terry Jenkins had no problem defeating American Darin Young from the USA as he is showing himself to be a nice outside3 bet for the title

21-12-15 pdc darts round 1

PDC round 1

Robert Thornton from Scotland had a bit of a pummelling to Englishman Alan Norris he has showed in this match that he could not get started and as Englishman took the first 2 sets he looked worried. I think that Norris might get by the next round but not further

Michael smith found it tricky against De Zwaan from the Netherlands as he could not get away from him in the early stages which gave De Zwaaqn that bit of confidence which he owned and made this a very worrying match for Smith and showed him he must improve.

Englishman James Wade found it simple against John Michael from Grease and a win like this will not help him going forward as Michael was a qualifier. There is little you can say about a result like this and if you go into it you are in a loose, loose situation a how much you win by.

20-12-15 worlsd darts championship

SUNDAY

Joe Murman from England pulled off a big shock against fellow Englishman Andy Hamilton the game was very close and no one really knew who would win at any stage of the match. This was a good result for Murman going forward as nothing will be easy for him.

Suljovic from Austria had no problem in getting past Jermaine Wattimena from the Netherlands. Suljovic showed that experience mattered in this opening match as he took it quite easily winning 3-1 but has not shown me anything to say he is a champion

Englishman Jamie Caven has shown that he is one of the best going forward after beating Rob Szabo from New Zealand 3-0. You can only beat the person put in front of you and that is what he did so we cannot know how good he really is.

Steven Bunting has shown that he has the quality to win the PDC title in recent seasons after winning the BDO earlier in his career and does look like the Campion to watch out for going forward. Jyhan Artut from Germany was not a problem at all in this first round match

Raymond van Barneveld had to beat practice partner Dirk van Duijvenbode in the first round of the world championship and this must have been hard for him to win so well as van Barneveld encouraged van Duijvenbode to take up darts

Englishman Mervyn King found it not so easy to beat Aleksander Oreshkin from Russia as Oreshkin took control of the first 2 sets and we wondered where King was but in the third he woke up and Oreshkin went to sleep but we could not get Oreshkin awake before the match ended

19-12-15 pdc darts

SATURDAY

Legend of darts Steve Beaten from England found it quite easy against Koha Kokiri from Australia beaten is a man that has been here for a long time but after Christmas the tournament begins for Beaten.

Outsider for the tournament Ian White from England could not get started in this world Championship as he lost to Dimitri van den Bergh from Belgium in the first round this should be seen as a disappointment for White

Englishman Kevin Painter had no problem in defeating Kim Viljanen from Finland very easily but at least this is showing the sport is doing well across the world.

The Man with the little goatee Simon Witlock from Australia lost to Englishman Ricky Evens in the first round of this first round match. I don’t think anyone really say this type of result coming so early in the competition

Vincent Van Der Vort has shown on Saturday that he might be an outside bet to do well in the competition with a simple 3-0 win over Laurence Ryder from Austrilia he might be one to watch out for

Phil Taylor had a simple 3-0 win over Japans Keita Ono Taylor is always a favourite but with new darts we don’t know if he will be good or bad.

18-12-15 world darts championship

PDC DARTS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

FRIDAY

A bad result for Irish sport happened on Friday as Brendan Dolan lost 3-0 to Australian Kyle Anderson and it looked like Dolan never had a sense of control of any part of the game. I was disappointed by this result as I have a feeling for anyone Irish. And I met him.

An outsider for the tournament went out on Friday as Kim Huybrechts lost to Englishman  David Palett. He is always one of my outside bets for the title as he is one player you think would do well.

MVG had a major scare on Friday against Eidams from Germany and as he is considered to have potential to be a legend in the game this would have been a huge disappointment to him.

Scotsman John Henderson showed that he did not have the form required as he lost in a first round match to Darren Webster. I would like to see Scotsmen do well but in this match Henderson had no control of the match whatsoever. ,

Christan Kist from the Netherlands has shown that he has the form to go far in this tournament after Christmas with a simple win over Justin Pipe from England. Kist started well and took control after winning the first set and from then took control.

Mick Mc Gowen came out of the prelims and could not get the form he had in the prelims. Webster did not allow Mc Gowen to play at all as he made it look very simple

pdc world darts championship 17-12-15

The PDC world darts championship started yesterday and you have your regular players for the title like Phil Taylor and Michael Van Gerwin. It is always a lot of fun to see who has got the most chance of being the champion as there are brilliant checkouts and music and it just feels like a good party.

Thursday, 17 December

This was the qualifier of the night as Englishman Andy Boulton had no real problem in dismissing Dain Per Larsson but we expected Lauursen to do a lot more in this first round match. This is the tiume for the underdog to shine and Lausen showed that he does not have that this season

Northern Irelands Daryl Gurney secured the first spot in the second round with a win over young welsh wonder kid Jamie Lew2is from wales but Lewis does look like one to watch in the near future

Peter Wright showed young hopeful Keegan Brown in an All English masterclass and looks ready for anyone we just wonder what his hair will do next

Scotsman Gary Anderson showed his class in beating qualifier Andy Boulton 3-0 and at this stage looks like he can go far in defending his world to the but these are the early rounds and they sometimes can tell you little
