CHAMPIONSHIP
The only British or Irish medal of the day went to James Guy
who won the 200 metre freestyle with a time of 1 minute 45.1 seconds behind him
was Chinas Yang S with a time of 1 minute 5 seconds in silver position in a
time of 1 minute .45.2 and in bronze is Paul Biedermann from Germany with a
time of 1 minute 15.28 seconds.
In the other men’s race of the day Australian Mitchell
Larkin won the 100 metre backstroke in a time of 52.4 seconds he was just in
front of Camille Lacourt from France who finished in 52.48 seconds and in third
was American Matt Grevers who finished in 52.66
Austrian Emily Seebohm won the women’s 100 metre backstroke with
a time of 58.28 seconds just ahead of Madison Wilson from Australia with a time
of 58.28 seconds and in third place was Mie Oe Nielsen from Denmark with a time
of 58.75 seconds
The women’s 1500 metre freestyle was won by Katie Ledecky
from the US with a time of 15 minutes 25.48 seconds. In second place was all
black Lauren Boyle with a time of 15 minutes 40.14 seconds and third went to Boglarka
Kapas from Hungary with a time of 15 minutes 47.09 seconds
Russian Yuliya Efimova won Women's 100m Breaststroke with a
time of 1 minute 5 seconds in second place was 2 Ruta Meilutyte from Lithuania
with a time of 1 minute 6 seconds in third place was Alia Atkinson from Jamaica
with a time of 1 minute 7 seconds
An event that was on in the world swimming championship was
a bit of a surprise as it was the High Diving
in the Women's 20m US competitor Rachelle
Simpson won first place just ahead of Cesilie Carlton also from the US in third
place was Bulgarian Yana Nestsiarava
